Ivanna Dorichenko is a recognised trade expert with over 13 years of experience in advising commercial parties on various aspects of international sale and carriage of goods and representing parties in international arbitration, commercial negotiation and cross-border disputes, particularly involving GAFTA and FOSFA contracts. Ivanna’s non-contentious work extends to drafting international commercial contracts and supporting commodity traders at all stages of contract execution in various jurisdictions. More broadly, Ivanna advises on conflict of laws, commercial risks and their minimisation, protection of international investments and other practical aspects of international business.
Having started her career in Ukraine, Ivanna was among the first Ukrainian lawyers involved in GAFTA and FOSFA work in the Black Sea region. She assisted GAFTA in opening their offices in Ukraine in 2005 and most recently spent 6 months as GAFTA Interim Head of Training preparing and delivering GAFTA courses worldwide.
Ivanna holds an LLM in International Commercial Law from Northumbria University and GAFTA Trade Diploma; she is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has been called to the bar of England and Wales. She is a regular speaker at international commodity events and has a range of publications on trade related matters.
